Kellogg's Cereal and WIC: Nourishing Families
At WK Kellogg, we want to make eating well easy for everyone, especially moms and kids. We value the U.S. Department of Agriculture's (USDA) Women, infant, and Children Supplement Nutrition Program (WIC). We recently made a commitment as part of the White House Conference on nutrition security to identify more ways to increase redemption of WIC foods within the program and are actively partnering with retailers to bring this to life.
WK Kellogg is committed to creating cereals that meet WIC’s nutritional requirements, including its entire line of whole grain Frosted Mini-Wheats and the first and only organic whole grain cereal, Kashi Organic Toasted Oats and Honey.
What is WIC?
- USDA's Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) supports the health of low-income women, infants, and children up to age five. The WIC Program provides nutritious foods to supplement diets, information on healthy eating, and referrals to health care.
- Cereal is among the foods included in the WIC program and can play an important part in providing nutrients that may be missing from many diets.
