WK Kellogg Sustainable Business
WK Kellogg Sustainable Business reporting
WK Kellogg Co was created in October 2023, when Kellogg Company separated into two companies. In our second year, we are a leading food company in the U.S., Canada, and Caribbean with a portfolio of iconic, category-leading brands. We have developed our sustainable business Feeding Happiness strategy, and we look forward to launching our inaugural Sustainable Business Report by mid-2025. In the meantime, here is more information about our approach.
Our Current Portfolio
We proudly carry on our founder W.K. Kellogg’s legacy of doing good with our sustainable business strategy, Feeding Happiness. This strategy builds upon W.K.’s vision for wellbeing and our company’s purpose – to create joy and connection to inspire gr-r-reat days. It enables us to remain “dedicated people making quality products for a healthier, happier world”.
We are proud of the foods we make today:

- Over the past 13 years, we have reduced total sugar, achieving a reduction of over 8% on average in some of our most popular ready-to-eat cereals. †
- 80%** of our cereals now contain less than 50 calories from added sugars per serving, or 2.5% of total daily calories, aligning with dietary guidelines.
- Over 90%* of our cereals are below the FDA’s Phase I voluntary sodium targets.
- All of our paperboard is produced under the Sustainable Forestry Initiative.

Our Responsible Business Fundamentals
WK Kellogg Co is committed to demonstrating a bold and unrelenting commitment to ethics, integrity and accountability. Our standards are detailed in our Employee Code of Ethics and Supplier Code of Conduct. Our multilingual Ethics and Compliance Helpline is staffed by a third-party and available 24/7 for any stakeholder to report a concern.
It is our intent to annually issue a Sustainable Business Report that transparently identifies our goals, metrics and progress in the three pillars of our Feeding Happiness strategy, plus information on how we responsibly manage our business fundamentals.
Our Chief Wellbeing and Sustainable Business Officer, who reports to our CEO, oversees this work. Numerous leaders across the business have accountability for various aspects of the strategy. Overall governance of the Feeding Happiness strategy is the responsibility of the full WK Kellogg Co Board of Directors.
Goals
As a new company, WK Kellogg is gathering data to best understand the areas where we can have the greatest impact and reduce risks along our value chain. Already, we have completed a materiality assessment and identified priority areas of focus.
Even while we are establishing unique, new targets for our new company, we are moving forward by:
- Increasing access to foods providing key nutrients and ingredients to support health and nutrition needs.
- Sparking happiness and confidence for millions of kids through sports, play and learning.
- Providing volunteer opportunities for employees and strengthening community partnerships.
- Addressing our environmental impact by progressing toward the Science-Based Targets Initiative emissions reduction targets established by our predecessor, Kellogg Company, and gathering data to evaluate potential water and waste reductions.
- Striving to maintain 98% of our packaging across the U.S. to be recyclable, recyclable ready or reusable.
The following policies guide our commitment to fulfilling our Feeding Happiness strategy, and are underpinned by our Responsible Business Fundamentals:
